Current experience in crypto especially for consumer facing transactions is broken with a new chain launching every other week, & a never ending list of tokens coming all along. Going through this journey the overall experience is hampered and to add to this, the entire on-chain transactions narrative is built around desktop ecosystem which brings down the experience even further, every crypto user has to keep multiple wallets to ensure safety of fund and personalized catered usecase across apps. This results into a hopping back & forth between these wallets which makes it difficult to track and manage funds across different wallet apps, chains and token investments. With Obvious wallet we try to solve this by creating an experience that takes a mobile first approach to onchain activities and managing funds between wallets easier to access at users fingertips.

One of the key problem we as a team were looking to solve was the activation part of the user journey where user installs app and imports wallets they own. The experience should be very cohesive & trust worthy enabling user to be informed at any given point in the flow wherever we are introducing something new in the journey & user should feel a sense of security.

We introduced badges which are a way to reward users to perform the critical flows which are essential for user activation, The rewards which users rewarded, they were able to mint these as badges as an digital collectibles & holders of these collectibles will get exclusive perks across app like gas less transactions for some apps, NFT mint access pass, etc. Each of these badges are unlocked after performing a specific task.

Even after existence of non-custodial wallets a large share of users still held funds on centralized exchanges like Binance and Coinbase. Most crypto-native users kept a CEX account on the side. Letting people import that CEX wallet directly was one of the most requested features from our user base.

We built Obvy into the fabric of the app itself, the face behind every informative and error state, turning routine friction points into something a little more human.

Transacting is the most crucial and most anxiety-inducing part of the wallet journey. We designed a cohesive flow that keeps users informed at every step: where funds are moving, which route they're taking, and full control over gas fees with live transaction tracking.

Obvious wallet’s one of the primary USP was to transact multi-chain assets which meant designing for token swaps in transit, not just simple sends. Since confirmation times vary by chain and transaction type, we mapped every use case and identified six distinct states, each designed individually to keep the process transparent.

A holistic view of user profile which has account settings, comphrensive wallet packs management system, tracking of rewards & reward mechanism with connected dapps and an address book to save store and manage frequent transactions wallets.

Portfolio is one of Obvious's core differentiators, a detailed breakdown of tokens, collectibles, and investments across every chain and wallet pack. Staying true to our promise of easy navigability, I designed it to feel comprehensive without ever feeling cluttered.

States of the portfolio’s top fold based on the market conditions to make sure user is well informed on how the assets are performing and are able to make rebalancing decisions based on that.

Breaking investments into three sub-categories gives users a clearer, more segmented view - collectibles, tokens, and active positions, each explorable on its own.

We streamlined the navigability and exploration of investments, tokens and collectibles with smart, informative widgets. Transparency was key, as we clearly outlined the breakdown of networth with a easy to follow information presentation while infusing with nudges which brings in more transactions on the app.

Better information meant better insight. Smart tagging surfaced an easy-to-read investment status for every position, providing an easy to comprehend investment status while providing appropriate context attached.

In-app nudges encouraged users to keep transacting sending, swapping, or bridging with personal stats woven in to make the experience feel more personalized.

Working with a diverse, full-stack design team building this out from the hills of the Himalayas was a genuinely unique experience. It reshaped how I think about design, and reinforced something simple: people are drawn to experiences that delight them. That belief ended up shaping every corner of the Obvious Wallet mobile app.
